{Event Recap} Cuban Terrace Wedding

Since everyone is clamoring to see one of the events I coordinated and designed ... here you go!

I met Jessica and Ernesto in the fall of 2008 to start discussing their wedding. They're a super cute couple, but with no time to plan a wedding between their work and school schedules.

They decided to enlist me to assist them in making their wedding vision a reality. When I met with them they had a color scheme (red, black and white) and they'd seen a location they liked but wanted to see more and that was about it.

I started by showing them some other locations, but they soon realized that they had fallen in love with the first site and nothing else was holding up in comparison. So The CocoPalm Restaurant in Pomona, California it was!

Next I designed their save the dates and invitations. I made a simple and modern design for them in their color scheme (all images have been modified to remove the couple's personal information).

Finally after all the vendors were selected, the dresses and tuxes picked out and fitted, the favors designed, the cakes tasted, the engagement photos taken, the flower designs perfected, the myriad of other details picked out, the RSVPs received, the seating chart agonized over, the budget balanced, the time line finalized, and the rehearsal run ... the big day arrived. It was a bit of a challenge since the ceremony and reception were set up on the outside terrace which was accessible down a long flight of stairs. I actually wore my pedometer at this event and got well over 25,000 steps! The event was lovely and the couple made some beautiful vows which included the groom's daughter. Here are some photos by Erika Seress with Giselle Macfarlane Photography of this fabulous event.
